In her vote of thanks to the team of Timeless Facts Magazine she has this to say.
Before saying thanks for this rare honour of having my profile here, I must confess that coming this far hasn’t been without its challenges.
I was preparing for my wedding before joining Oxford and I continued my job after the wedding but I had to relocate to Mowe in Ogun State to move in with my husband and from there I was coming to Egbeda everyday, I must say it wasn’t easy for me at all but I kept on. Even when I took in up till when I put to bed and even for months after delivery there was no personal or official car for me then I just was not ready to quit my job. I could remember my husband told me times without number to resign – during pregnancy when the stress was so much, when I was about giving birth and even afterwards but I wasn’t just ready to be a stay-at-home wife because that wasn’t me. I remembered one of his friends told him that “you know the wife you married is a leader who has a great vision, so how do you expect her to stay at home – it would be like killing her”.
My husband saw my doggedness and resolute personality and the fact that the baby couldn’t cope, he had to sacrifice his comfort for us. We had to move from Mowe, our personal house to come to Lagos to rental apartment. For this too, I had to work hard to be so supportive as a way of appreciation.
Moving from my entering point to where I am today hasn’t been an easy journey. Climbing up the career ladder came with so much envy – people are ever so ready to pull you down at the slightest opportunity. I am so disciplined and never had to lobby for any position or promotion, rather I work harder and call on God to do the rest, at a point in early 2021 while my second child was just few months old I had to develop a serious prayer life. While breastfeeding by the inspiration of my spiritual mentor who prayer and fasting is his way of life I fasted for 90 days and since then it’s been from one prayer and fasting exercise to another with sound prayer life both night and day.
Now to the question; one of my greatest challenges is not knowing how to play office politics on time. I was so down to heart (still though), disciplined and blunt. I still exhibit this till date but I have learnt to diplomatically do it. I learnt office politics by experience – in every organization, you must earn your respect – no eye service, do your own as a child of God who is God fearing but be diplomatic in your actions.
When you get to any organization, don’t just jump at anything. Think of your passion and think of any vacuum/need of the company that goes in line with your passion, occupy that space, be relevant and work it out in all, never trade your body for anything, the same men meet somewhere to talk down ladies they found sexually cheap. You must be prayerful and ready to pay any price to protect your dignity and values. Good name they say is better than riches.
I give God all the glory for all I have enjoyed from Him. Thank you to my husband Engineer Richard Oyawole, my children, my entire family, Spiritual Mentors and everyone who has been part of my success story for their support. To everyone at Timeless Facts, I say thank you for the rare honour of having my profile here. God bless you all.
