
The 53-year-old star actor is a practising Catholic and he said he credits most of his achievements to his religion.
“My faith, and my family, and just finding good balance,” he said when asked about his career, adding: “But I have to attribute all my success to my Christian faith.”
The Oscar nominee is opens a Mexican restaurant called Fletcha in California and he invited the Diocese of Orange Christ Cathedral Bishop Kevin W. Vann to bless the space with holy water and prayer.
Wahlberg is not shy about his faith. In 2022 he invested millions of dollars of his own money into the film Father Stu which charts the tale of an amateur boxer-turned priest called Stuart Long.
The former singer says his belief in God gives him “discipline” and now prays every day.
“You got to stay prayed up,” he told fans when Father Stu was released.
“Even with my faith, I don’t force it on [my kids]. But they know that dad can’t start the day without being in prayer, can’t start the day without reading my Scripture or going to Mass,” Wahlberg told ‘NBCs Today in 2022. “And hopefully, instead of forcing that on them, they’ll say, ‘Well, if it works for dad, maybe it’ll work for us.”
