The word fulfillment comes from the root word fulfill. To Fulfill means to accomplish or carry into effect, an intention, a promise, prophesy, desire, prayer etc. To bring to pass or to complete to perfection. Fulfillment means a feeling of satisfaction at having achieved one’s desires. It is also an act of consummating something, a desire or promise.
Time is said to be the numerical indication of a particular moment. Time is also said to be a particular moment or hour; the appropriate moment or hour for something.
The fulfillment of time is about God’s appointed or ordained time for a matter to be established, or that right time for a promise or prophecy to come to manifestation. I mean a moment, minute, hour, day, week, month or year God has proposed for a promise or prophecy to be established; at this appointed time, every obstacle thereto is divinely removed and everything begins to happen just like God has ordained it. A time when a man or woman is empowered by God to do the right thing, say the right words, and pay the right price that will bring God’s promises and prophecies to accomplishment.
An example is the story of Hannah in the Bible as recorded in the first book of Samuel chapter one. Hannah had been barren for years, praying, believing and waiting on God for a child. Of course she had been going to Shiloh with her husband Elkanah, but when the time had been fulfilled for God to answer her, she was empowered by God to say the right words and do the right things, at the right moment and at the right place that led to the fulfillment of her heart desire for a child of her own. Read: 1 Sam 1:11-20.
It is important for us all as Christians and true children of God to understand that there are different seasons and phases in life. Life has never been and will never be a straight way journey; rather, there are bends. We can liken it to a road with many dangerous bends, curves, pot holes, barriers and other obstacles. Also in some cases, we encounter traffic gridlocks. You will agree with me that if you must get to your desired destination while traveling on these roads, you certainly will need patience and skill while you navigate the dangerous bends and when you encounter heavy traffic. Now, many have died traveling on these roads as a result of impatience or disobedience to road rules and regulations while others got to their respective destinations because they up the right attitude and most importantly had the patience to slow down in dangerous bends and bad spots. This is also the case of our everyday journey in life with Christ, no matter the challenges or tribulations, it is certain that with the right attitude, that is, having strong faith in God and patience in different seasons while living a true Christlike life, your reward will certainly come at the fulfillment of time. Read: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, James 1:2-4.
However, you must be wise even while you are patiently waiting for the fulfillment of time. If the waiting becomes too long and it seems nothing is happening, then you need to consider the following reasons:
· Search through your heart if there is any unconfessed sin in your life. God is all about relationships. So, if He is not blessing, perhaps the relationship is strained through any form of disobedience or habitual sin that you are not surrendering to Him. Psalm 1:1-6, 1 Peter 3:12, Proverbs 15:8,9.
Apart from sin and unrighteousness consider the following as well:
· Have you asked in faith? Read: Matthew 21:22, Mark 11:24.
· Perhaps you are asking with the wrong motives. James 4:3.
· Maybe you are directly impacted by someone else’s sin. Sometimes we share in the consequences of sin or irresponsibility of those who are connected to us. Proverbs 22:24.
· Perhaps it could be that God wants you to be persistent in prayer. Perhaps you have not prayed enough. Luke 18:1.
· Maybe you have not been faithful in tithing and your vows to God.
· Learn to pray for others, the Church of God and God’s kingdom in general.
· Be an addicted soul winner and be sold out for God’s work.
· Never take for granted the place of sacrificial giving especially to those true servants of God you always go to for prayers.
· Finally remember to thank God more in your prayers, every prayer must start and end with thanksgiving, thank Him for all He has done and for that which you expect him to do for you and always ask for God’s mercy and for His purging and cleansing from iniquities.
Now pray these prayers with all seriousness:
1. Lord, grant me the grace to be patient for my own time of harvest in Jesus’ name.
2. Lord, grant me the grace to understand and know the right prayers to pray while I wait on you in Jesus’ name.
3. Lord, do not put me to shame as I wait on you in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Lord, just like you answered the prayer of Jabez and changed his story for good, father cancel any curse, spell, incantation and enchantment working against me in Jesus’ name and let there be total turn around in every area of my life in the name of Jesus Christ.
